Airport Transfer in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg & Berlin

< Back on Travel Style Blog
Organizing how to get to an airport or get away from an airport can be stressful, since a lot of factors need to be considered. Train or long-distance bus? Taxi or shuttle service? Car sharing or car rental? Which one is the cheapest, and most importantly, will I be on time?

The good news is, when travelling in Germany, there is no reason to worry. All the major German airports offer a wide range of transport options and you can simply choose the one that fits your needs.

Airport Transfer in Frankfurt

Frankfurt Airport is particularly easy to reach: Frankfurt's main railway station is only a 10-minute S-Bahn ride away from the airport, where long-distance trains arrive and depart as well. Public transport and intercity buses also stop at Frankfurt Airport, such as the ones from the popular German bus company FlixBus. On the airport's website, you will also find a list of all hotels offering a shuttle service.

Airport Transfer in Munich

If you are planning to travel to or from Munich Airport, you should be aware that the airport is quite far away from the city center. By train, it takes about 45 minutes to get from Munich Central Station to the airport. On the airport’s website, you will find an overview of various airport transfer and limousine services. Additionally, you can use car sharing services, such as car2go and DriveNow. For using their services please note, however, that you must register in advance with the provider of your choice.

Good to know: In case Munich is only a stopover on your journey and you need accommodation close to the airport, the Novotel Munich Airport offers rooms with various extras right at the airport.

Airport Transfer in Hamburg

It takes about 25 minutes from Hamburg main station to the airport. You can easily reach Hamburg Airport by subway, S-Bahn or bus. In addition to local buses, there are also the long-distance bus services available. If you would like to rent a car, you can choose between several car rental companies. The beautiful harbor city thus offers lot of possibilities for an effective airport transfer.

Airport Transfer in Berlin

Please note: there are two airports in the German capital and they should not be mixed-up! While Schönefeld Airport is about 23 kilometers away from the city center, Tegel Airport is only 9 kilometers away. At both airports, you can easily access public transport or use the car sharing services offered by car2go and DriveNow.

Advantages of an Airport Transfer with Chauffeur

Of course, Accor will be happy to help you organizing your airport transfer: our partner company Mozio is represented at more than 2,000 airports worldwide. With Mozio, customers can choose between different types of transfers: Do you prefer a shuttle or would you rather use a taxi? Would you like a spacious SUV or a smaller car? Or do you want to surprise your partner with a limousine ride to celebrate a special day? Apart from those choices, an airport transfer with included driver also offers some general advantages over using your own car or public transport:
  • Local contact: in case you need directions or have any other questions that are best answered by a local, your driver will be happy to help you.
  • No dependency on timetables: you can hire an airport transfer at any time, day and night, which means you do not have to adjust to the public transport timetables.
  • Reliable transport service in case of delay: unlike public transport, your driver will wait for you in case your flight is delayed.

If you like to play it safe, you are well advised to book a transfer to the airport. If you want to explore unknown places, hire a driver who knows his way around! As you can see: an airport transfer is not only a short trip from one location to another, it can also be a chance for collecting important information about your destination and getting insider tips.
